With the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) set to take effect in May 2018, organizations are in the final stages of ensuring they are compliant. GDPR is a regulation to strengthen and unify data protection within the EU, and it addresses the export of personal data outside of the EU.

GDPR applies to any organization operating in the EU, as well as organizations outside the EU that offer goods or services in the EU. That means most major corporations are affected.

In addition to complying with regulation, readying for GDPR provides security professionals the opportunity to take stock of their situation to ensure both that GDPR is successful and that there is even stronger cybersecurity.

On March 29, in a live Harvard Business Review webinar, Forrester analyst Enza Iannopollo—author of The State of GDPR Readiness—will lead a discussion about how to use GDPR to improve your organization’s security strategy. Iannopollo will explore:

  • How to bring together people, policies, and processes to make GDPR preparations more successful
  • How to identify gaps in your strategy and prioritize remediation and investments
  • How to use GDPR as an opportunity to improve your security practices

If your organization is taking steps to comply with GDPR but doesn’t yet see this as a bigger opportunity to improve your security, join Enza Iannopollo and HBR on March 29 to understand the larger benefits of readying for GDPR.
